Injection Moulding

Injection Moulding

This is the manufacturing process used in the factory to make pots and closures. Our injection moulding machines have a 90 to 110 tonne capacity, fitted with robots. We have a wide range of pot and cap moulds available, or customise your own mould to your own specification. The plastic material Polypropylene is used to manufacture the Flexicon range of pots and caps, and are all of food grade standard and are recyclable.

Polypropylene (PP)

PP is a very low density plastic material with good heat resistant and mechanical properties. This makes it hard and rigid but still flexible, with a high immunity to flex fatigue - meaning that it can be bent almost indefinitely without breaking. The surface finish of PP is smooth with a glossy waxy look.

PP is a very versatile plastic, owing to its excellent resistance to gas and water vapour. Additionally, it can withstand acidic, alkaline and saline solutions.
